Acupuncture. Acupuncture is the practice of inserting tiny needles into specific areas of the body called “acupoints” to promote healing.  Acupoints are tiny areas on the body that have increased electrical conductivity, which are located on channels associated with the different organ systems.  By stimulating these points and channels in a precise manner, we can increase circulation, relieve pain, stimulate nerves, and promote the release of different chemicals and hormones to treat many different medical conditions, including, but not limited to: muscle and joint pain, nerve injury, gastrointestinal diseases, skin diseases, and non-infectious respiratory diseases.  Acupuncture sessions last 15-30 minutes depending on the patient and condition.  Treatments are initially repeated every 1-2 weeks, then extended as your pet improves.

Chinese Herbal Medicine. Chinese herbal medicine involves the use of specific plant-based combinations into specific “formulas” that treat individual conditions of disease.  Many of these formulas have been used for thousands of years to treat different conditions and remain effective to this day.  Dr. Hartman can recommend an herbal formula for your pet’s condition after an examination at our office.  Herbal medicine can be used in conjunction with other prescription medications or  as an alternative to prescription medications in some cases.

Dental. Routine dental cleanings are paramount to pet health, especially in dogs and cats. Without healthy teeth and gums, your pet is liable to suffer from pain and inability to eat, in addition to heart and kidney problems. Be sure to discuss dental cleanings with our veterinarians and staff to maintain a healthy pet.

Euthanasia. Euthanasia is considered when a pet’s quality of life is no longer achievable or sustainable.  Our veterinarians and staff will help guide you through this important decision. It’s never easy, but we promise to answer all of your questions, address all of your concerns, and make the process as comfortable as possible for both you and your pet.

Food Therapy. Food therapy is the practice of using fresh, whole food based ingredients to treat specific medical conditions.  If you have ever wanted to start cooking for your dog or cat but didn’t know where to start, Dr. Hartman can help!  During a food therapy consultation, Dr. Hartman will help you pick ingredients specific to your pet’s needs and preferences.  Then, she will email you several recipes with cooking instructions and supplement recommendations so that you can make your pet a custom balanced diet at home.

Imaging. Digital X-Ray & Ultrasound are available to capture quality images of the internal anatomy of your pet, leading to quality diagnostics and treatment of a sick or injured pet.

Laboratory. Our in-house IDEXX laboratory assures fast and reliable diagnostics for your dog or cat without delay.

Pharmacy. Our in-house pharmacy offers most prescription medications and prescription foods for your dog or cat. For convenience, we also offer an online option for many medications and foods.

Surgery. Our veterinarians perform many routine surgeries without the need to see a specialist.

Spay / Neuter. Spaying your female dog or car helps prevent uterine infections and breast tumors, which are malignant or cancerous in about 50 percent of dogs and 90 percent of cats. Spaying pets before their first heat offers the best protection from these diseases. Neutering your male pet helps prevent testicular cancer and some prostate problems. Making the decision to spay or neuter your dog or cat can be the single best decision you make for their long-term welfare. Preventive care is just one of the reasons you should consider spaying or neutering your pet.

Vaccinations. Your pet needs vaccinations to stay healthy and prevent a multitude of illnesses. We will track your pet’s vaccination schedule and will send out reminders to you when they are due so nothing is missed.

Wellness. Annual wellness exams are the foundation to your pet’s health. Make sure vaccinations are up to date, discuss health concerns, catch health issues you haven’t noticed, and make sure your pet is healthy.
