What is Veterinary Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is the practice of inserting tiny needles into specific areas of the body called “acupoints” to promote healing. Acupoints are tiny areas on the body that have increased electrical conductivity, which are located on channels associated with the different organ systems.
By stimulating these points and channels in a precise manner, we can increase circulation, relieve pain, stimulate nerves, and promote the release of different chemicals and hormones to treat many different medical conditions, including, but not limited to:
Muscle and Joint Pain
Nerve Injury
Gastrointestinal Diseases
Skin Diseases
Non-infectious Respiratory Diseases
Acupuncture sessions last 15-30 minutes depending on the patient and condition. Treatments are initially repeated every 1-2 weeks, then extended as your pet improves.
